About the ShopDog
Golden Retriever “Sanders” was the muse for ShopDog Idaho Woodworking, having scribbled his paw print in the concrete floor of its first home, and loyally staying the course by Jeff’s side throughout his woodworking days and nights. It was Jeff’s young daughter who named the puppy. It was not, as one might assume, because Daddy loved his woodworking. In truth, she loved the new puppy as much as her favorite book, Winnie the Pooh, and gave the puppy the name on Pooh-bear’s front door. Sanders’s spirit continues since his passing in 2016, as the legacy for ShopDog Idaho Woodworking.
About Jeff Watson
Jeff was carved from wood and brought to life specifically to bring joy by creating and revitalizing art through wood. The Idaho native and University of Idaho grad has journeyed through physical fitness, woodworking craftsmanship and classes, jet airplane interior renovations, and Shopdog.
As part of the adopted family of Woodcraft of Boise, he has taught classes for over 15 years, is considered an expert in finishing techniques, and specializes in custom classes with both novice and expert artisans.
ShopDog is the go-to place for restoration and conversion of unique antique furniture. Jeff also loves to imagine and invent new products for consumers. You will find Jeff and his beautiful wife, Tereza, at the Farmers Market in Nampa Saturday mornings, hawking his newest slice and stow creation, Jeff’s “KNIFE NOOK” (shown below), charcuterie boards, customer signs, and more.
